绥德县第三小学地处县城文化路，创建于1972年，目前占地5692平方米，有教职工84名，学生1520名，设24个教学班。学校以“一切为了促进每一位学生的最佳发展，培养具有完美人格和鲜明个性的现代人才”为办学指导思想，以“以人为本，以德治校，以法治校，向管理要质量，靠科研创一流，以艺术教育为特色，负重争先，持续发展”为发展策略，全校师生勤奋进取，办出了自己的特色。教师在省、市、县各级教学大赛及论文评选中多次获奖，学校被评为全国“读书育人”特色学校、“全国群众体育运动先进单位”、“陕西省卫生先进单位”、“陕西省依法治校示范学校”、“陕西省示范家长学校”、“陕西省科研项目学校”、“榆林市文明校园”、“榆林市红旗大队”、“绥德县双常规管理先进单位”、“绥德县示范小学”、“绥德县文明单位”等。
